Biography

Deborah Fosbrook is a Barrister of the Honourable Society of Gray’s Inn and has a degree in Business Law. She was fortunate to complete her pupillage with two leading experts the late Professor Sir Hugh Laddie KC who created Anton Pillar orders and Dr Mary Vitoria KC LLB PhD in the chambers of Blanco White KC. That included an appearance in the Court of Appeal which she won arguing against an application for an injunction in a rubik cube case. Her management experience includes Thorn EMI and Legal and Business Affairs in Programme Acquisition at the BBC. She was the sole in-house lawyer at TVam and was Head of Legal and Business Affairs and deputy Company Secretary as part of the senior management team which turned the company into a financial success. She was then appointed Company Secretary of TVam plc and all its subsidiaries to manage the due diligence process, documentation and marketing of the flotation on the Stock Exchange. She is the co-author of over 12 books which have been published since 1989. The current books include The A-Z of Contract Clauses Sixth Edition, The Media and Business Contracts Handbook Fifth Edition. These books have been used by leading universities, libraries, societies and institutes as well as manufacturers, television, film and media companies and distributors, publishers, authors, merchandising companies and sponsors worldwide. Reference to The A-Z of Contract Clauses has been made by the European Commission on a report on Quality Control and it is on the recommended list of The Society of Authors. Her consultancy work has included athletics and she has worked with England Athletics and athletics clubs in North London. The Network was awarded a national award for the region for their achievements. The latest work of which she is co-author is Contract and Copyright Drafting Skills is to be published in 2016. This book covers 56 subjects to do with drafting and aims to get you to both understand the topics and the choices which you can make as to how clauses can be drafted.
