Biography

Pippa is a barrister specialising in child protection and Court of Protection work, in particular cases involving the deprivation of a person’s liberty. Pippa has a developed practice representing local authorities, NHS bodies, parents, children and protected parties. Her expertise across both children’s and adult’s work lends itself to the tricky transitional cases involving young people as they progress towards adulthood and require support and intervention from statutory bodies. She is regularly instructed in complex cases involving issues around a young person’s consent to the arrangements for them, including their medical treatment or confinement. She has a particular interest in the framework of Article 5 of the ECHR, its purpose and domestic deployment.
